A nice lady named Polly at The Mirror calls the The Moment of Revelation of the Be-Fringing “important and culturally significant,” likening the experience to knowing where you were when JFK died (unborn)/ when Diana died (in bed)/ when Take That split up (um… Double Maths?). Having said that, it has the funniest bitchy ending to an article all week:

Obviously we’ll all copy her and not look as good. In fact, listen, can you hear that? That’s the sound of Sienna’s brain doing actual concentrating as she stands in front of the bathroom mirror with a pair of nail scissors…

Ooh, BURN!

As in The Mirror, the phrase “cutting edge” was used liberally throughout the papers this week, in commemoration of the momentous makeover. Now mag also added the word “Kringe” to our collective vocabularies: work that one out! Personally, I would’ve gone with “Frate.”

The prize for the best of the fringe articles, however, must be given to The Times. Here, someone named Hari, who has “been in hairdressing for 30 years” gives us the lowdown on copying Kate’s wall of hair:

I always advise my customers, when choosing to copy a haircut, to put a finger over the face and focus purely on the hair. Covering Kate Moss’s face shows that this haircut is very boring.

Unfortunately, I grasped the wrong end of the stick altogether, and got myself to a hairdresser before breaking news could stop me. This is the photo I saw:

Well, it’s from 11th October. I didn’t think she’d be changing it again so soon! Sigh. Off to buy a hat now.
