Blog of the Week: Best of Craigslist
It’s brilliant. The blog takes some rants and raves, voted for by Craigslist readers, and lays them out for your delectation. Some people out there are weird: scary-weird and funny-weird, all good to read.
You will find such gems as this: Facebook: I Love to Hate You
This is an update on the banker/25-year-old girl story. Earlier stuff here.
Apparently, though, Craigslist is the future, and a severe threat to newspapers. This blog shows us all why and how! Only not so much.
More highlights after the jump…
This is a delightful one: Women aren’t attracted to men
It’s rather well-written, for Craigslist, if a little bitter. Perhaps it’s only when you get to “VALUE” in big capital letters, and then “A woman basically is a greedy materialistic prostitute,” that you’re kind of getting the gist of it. The author has been dumped recently. Aw diddums.
The stuff he says about the laydeez isn’t all that kind, but if there was a dumping thing, perhaps we can forgive just this one time. After all, if you persevere, you’ll happen upon this kernel of male wisdom at the end:
I’m completely unable to reconcile the differences between men and women. It seems like success with women is equal to spending half of your life working to create a giant illusion, something vastly tiring and annoying, while sacrificing your own true self and your own interests. We construct our lives around nest-building. We’re like male birds building nests and showing them off to attract mates. It’s pathetic. Everything we do is to get women. It is a fucking shit deal.
Get off Craigslist, go home to mummy.
PS: You need to get some hobbies, aside from the nest thing.
I like to see these two as bookends: guy that flashed me on i-90 and To the girl who flashed me while I was driving – m4w
Basically, when a dude flashes, it’s creepy and scary. When a girl does it: “I’m almost certainly too old for you, but I think I could still have a meaningful relationship with your boobs.” Draw your own conclusions.
Also, who goes through Craigslist looking for stuff addressed to them in this way, from these incidents? Fascinating how people have used the service as a chance to get things off their mind.
This is about mice; will make you feel better – hopefully – if you’ve ever had them.
This is about mutated sauce growling. It’s great.
Oh, the men this lady met “off” Craigslist…
This is actually helpful. For the gents. I should think…?
This is the saddest.
Enough of this though, go, go, explore the blog of the week.

Hello craig from craigslist, it is good to see you, looking good!
Looks like Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster is a bit peeved that somebody has a better blog than them. This is a very compelling story and will be closely watched. I don’t think CL has a leg to stand on.

I hear ya. But it’s kind of compelling too…
Craigslist scares me.
