Well, I braved the crowd of sharp-elbowed journos and got into the first screening of this little film… more to come after I’ve reviewed it for the Talent Press. Let’s just say, it’s very… British. With a dash of Cock-er-ney Guy Ritchie stuff. Hm… draw your own conclusions. It’s probably not fair of me to say too much before its premiere tomorrow at 10:30am in the Panorama section, so you’ll just have to wait. Sorry!
Okay, here’s the review!

Soooo exciting!! This news story comes to you courtesy of Variety:
BERLIN — Stephen Frears, Bernd Eichinger and actress-director Sandrine Bonnaire will attend this year’s Berlinale Talent Campus to take part in the educational platform’s focus on biopics.
The event, which runs Feb. 9-14, will discuss the success of biopics and explore their popularity with auds.
Frears’ “The Queen” as well as his 1987 biopic of playwright Joe Orton, “Prick Up Your Ears,” offered insight into the lives of very different British personalities, while Eichinger enjoyed huge success with “Downfall,” a chronicle of Adolf Hitler’s final days, which he penned and produced.
Bonnaire, who played Joan of Arc in 1994’s “Joan the Maid,” recently directed a documentary about her autistic sister Sabine (“Her Name Is Sabine”).

I am going to be all over this. I’ll need a laff.
Madonna’s directorial debut, Filth and Wisdom, will have its world premiere at Germany’s Berlinale film festival next February. The thirty-minute low-budget short comedy is reportedly based on the singer’s life.
