Land of Kings!

March 29, 2010

Thanks to the lovely Lydia at Splendid Communications, I’ve been offered tickets to the Land of Kings festival in Dalston, east London, on Friday 23rd April. I’m excited. You should be too. Here’s why…

1) This is the best thing to happen to DalstonCoolest Place in Britain (TM)since Moustache Bar reopened.

2) There’s an amazing lineup, including Fuck Buttons, Rory Phillips’s electronic disco (so E8, babes) and local “poundshop popstar,” Sportsday Megaphone.

3) Other highlights include a Horrors DJ set in UV heaven, Juicy;  Hackney Colliery Band; obscure installations in the Second World War bunker under Kingsland Road; cabaret in the Old Boys Club Victorian Hall and a royal banquet, according to organiser Connie Harrison. Phew.

4) NO CAMPING. Yay!

5) When else do you get the chance to weave your way in an out of the extreme variety of haunts along Kingsland High Street and Stoke Newington Road. Really? Even Dreams? How about The Stone Cave? Thought not. It’s going to be an adventure.

Tickets cost between £10 and £30 – look here for more info. Let me know if you’re thinking of going…
