Like Kate Moss on EasyJet after a week-long detox, we’ve all had things get a bit much for us at times.
We’ve got so much to worry about these days, and thanks to our mobiles, we spend far too much time frowning down into our hands, poised to pick up every new notification.
So why not make your phone work for you with these mindfulness apps? Currently quite the buzzword, ‘mindfulness’ is often used interchangeably with ‘meditation’. It simply means paying more attention to your thoughts and feelings in the present moment, which should lead to better mental wellbeing, according to the NHS.
These apps provide you with timed, guided meditation tracks, calming music and the chance to buddy up with like-minded users for support. You could fit a 5-minute track into your commute, your lunchtime scurry to Pret, or your gym cooldown. Rather than obsessively updating Twitter, why not check-in to your mindfulness app?
